Everton want £20-25 million for James Garner amid Tottenham, Newcastle United links

Everton will want at least £20-25 million to sell James Garner in the summer, with Tottenham and Newcastle United interested.

According to Football Insider, Everton will demand £20-25 million to sell James Garner and use the profit to stabilise their financial situation. Tottenham and Newcastle United are the teams keen to sign the 22-year-old ex-Manchester United academy ace, who has shown massive improvements this season.

Everton set James Garner’s price

had it not been for the 10-point deduction, Everton would have languished in 12th place, exactly 10 points clear of the relegation zone. The draw against Crystal Palace on Monday helped the Toffees get out of the bottom three, albeit on goal difference, as there’s a more significant emphasis on their financial situation.

Everton are fighting FFP-related problems and have seen a second charge come their way after the points dediction. Hence, one thing is clear: the Toffees must sell some of their stars to be on par with their books, and they do have a few names that can fetch a reasonable sum in the market.

Amadou Onana is one, while James Garner is another, as the latter already has the interest of several Premier League sides. The likes of Tottenham, who are keen, view him as an alternative to ‘dream target’ Conor Gallagher. However, the 22-year-old ex-Manchester United ace certainly has the tag of an ‘English midfielder’ on his shoulders.

Meanwhile, Everton are not opposed to a sale as they are demanding £20-25 million for the midfielder they paid close to £10 million to Manchester United in the summer of 2022. Tottenham and other interested clubs will undoubtedly be interested at that price, as they can get an ‘English’ talent for a reasonable fee.

Newcastle United to rival for James Garner

Tottenham are keen on Garner but faces competition from Newcastle United for the midfielder. The Magpies are in the market for new midfielders, with Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes’ futures uncertain beyond the current season, mainly if they do not return to the Champions League.

Everton will know of these clubs vying for Garner, and should they get their desired price in the market, the Toffees might sell. The 22-year-old ex-Manchester United academy ace still has two years left on his current deal, as the Merseysiders will see the summer as a time when his value peaks.
