West Ham United are all set to square up against Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United for the signatures of Lloyd Kelly.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are all interested in acquiring the services of Lloyd Kelly. The 25-year-old’s centre-back’s future is uncertain, and he could be available for free at the end of the season.
Lloyd Kelly has been at Bournemouth since the summer of 2019. The former England youth international has gone from strength to strength over the years, and he has been a consistent performer for the Cherries. But, with his contract expiring at the end of the season, there is no certainty of him continuing at the English club.
The 25-year-old might have had limited game time in the ongoing season. But he has still managed to put in a few impressive shifts. His performances have caught the eyes of multiple clubs in England. With the experienced campaigner available for free, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are willing to battle it out for his signatures.
Race for Lloyd Kelly’s signature
Tottenham have had their eye on the former Bristol City defender for some time. They considered the idea of making a move for Kelly in the recently concluded window but in the end, they went ahead with Radu Dragusin.
Despite making multiple defensive signings, they still seek another defender, and Kelly is their priority. His versatility will make him a very important signing for them. Meanwhile, Newcastle have been impressed with what they have seen from the 25-year-old in the recent past. He is a homegrown player, which is why they are considering the idea of signing him.
As far as West Ham are concerned, they need more defensive depth and believe signing Kelly for free in the summer will be an exceptional deal for them. Bournemouth have already offered him a new deal in hopes that he would be open to the idea of extending his stay by another few years. The new contract will include a release clause. But despite that, the Cherries are not confident about him putting pen to paper.
