Intermediaries offered Real Madrid the chance to sign Dusan Vlahovic, but the Merengues have rejected the opportunity to sign the Juventus forward.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid could have signed Dusan Vlahovic in the upcoming summer transfer window. Intermediaries offered Los Blancos the chance to land the Serbian international. But they have rejected the opportunity to sign him from Serie A club Juventus.
Dusan Vlahovic and his Juventus Journey
Dusan Vlahovic has blown hot and cold since completing a dream move to Juventus in January 2022. The 24-year-old was one of the best young strikers in Serie A when he arrived at the Allianz Stadium. But he has not built on his burgeoning reputation, with the Turin club’s struggles reflected in his output.
The Serb was a pale shadow of his Fiorentina best last season but has improved thus far this term. He has amassed 13 goals and two assists in 24 appearances across all competitions in the 2023/24 campaign. While Vlahovic’s output is still not at the desired levels, he has shown signs of improvement.
So, it is hardly surprising that the Serbian international has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, particularly from the Premier League. But intermediaries have reportedly offered Real Madrid the chance to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Serie A club Juventus.
Vlahovic Offered to Real Madrid
Real Madrid did not replace Karim Benzema with a world-class striker last summer. Instead, Joselu arrived on loan from Espanyol, essentially taking Mariano Diaz’s spot in the first-team squad. While the Spaniard has been excellent this season and will likely join Real Madrid in a permanent move this summer, he is best used as a backup.
So, it behoves Real Madrid to sign a top-class attacker this summer. That forward will be Kylian Mbappe, who has agreed to sign a five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. In addition, Endrick will arrive from Palmeiras in the summer transfer window.
Hence, there is no spot for Dusan Vlahovic in the Real Madrid first team. So, it is hardly surprising that the Merengues have turned down the chance to secure the Juventus striker’s services in the summer transfer window. Instead, a move to the Premier League might be on the horizon for the Serbian international.
