Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are pushing hard for the services of Jarrad Branthwaite amidst interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Real Madrid are all interested in the services of Jarrad Branthwaite. The 21-year-old Everton centre-back has made quite a name for himself, and there could be a bidding war for his services. At this point in time, the Red Devils and Spurs are the ones leading the race.

Promising Prospect to Premier League Target

Branthwaite has been a part of the Everton setup since the winter of 2020. While he was always considered a huge prospect, he did not really get much game time for the Merseyside club in the initial years. But, that is now a story of the past.

He has established himself in their first team following an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven last season. He has been a constant feature in defence in the ongoing season, and his consistent performances have resulted in a lot of interest from English as well as other European clubs.

While he still has over three years left on his deal with the Toffees, there is a real possibility of him parting ways in the summer because of the amount of interest in him as well as the financial condition of Everton.

The Merseyside club were handed a points deduction earlier in the season which has forced them into a relegation battle. The price of the player will depend on whether they manage to survive in the top flight or not.

Intense race for Branthwaite’s signature

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Real Madrid are all in search of defensive reinforcement, and they are interested in Jarrad Branthwaite. The Gunners have built a team around young stars, and they are looking to another.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, they lack depth at the back, which has been exposed in the ongoing season because of the number of injuries they have suffered. While they are still excelling, signing a new centre-back in the summer is a priority for them.

While Real Madrid and Arsenal have enquired about the 21-year-old, they have not made any major efforts so far. According to the report, Manchester United and Tottenham are the clubs pushing the hardest to land the Everton centre-back in the summer.

Ange Postecoglou got off to a flying start with Tottenham. But the lack of depth has restricted them. Injuries to key defenders have highlighted the fact that they need to invest in another young defender and Branthwaite is a key target.

When it comes to Manchester United, they are looking to add two young defenders in the summer. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will have their first shot at improving the United squad in the summer and they are going to focus on homegrown players. Branthwaite is homegrown, only 21 and on top of that, he is a left-sided centre-back, a profile Erik ten Hag is seeking to bolster his squad.

Good average defender, but not technical enough for Arsenal’s passing standard. Plus he is more left sided than right, and we would prefer a right sided CB to cover for Saliba.
