De Ligt was already a star during his teenage, as the Dutch international led his childhood club Ajax to the semi-final of the Champions League while he was just 19. It was a team full of future superstars, and he was their leader.

The lack of game time has frustrated the 24-year-old, who is now unsettled in Munich. He is not happy with his current role at the club and could consider making a move elsewhere to be the preferred choice in defence.

The Manchester United boss has worked with De Ligt during his time at Ajax and would love to have him in his ranks at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are not the only ones interested, with even Arsenal are keen on his signatures.
The Gunners have internally discussed the idea of signing the 24-year-old to bolster their defence. But, they are yet to initiate any sort of contact with the player or the club.
