Arsenal are prepared to sell Thomas Partey for around €15 million in the summer when the midfielder enters the final year of his deal.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are willing to sell Thomas Partey for €15 million, which could end up attracting suitors towards the midfielder. Mikel Arteta has already started planning to revamp his midfield ahead of the summer, with the Ghanaian midfielder entering the final year of his deal at the Emirates.

Is Thomas Partey set to leave Arsenal?

Mikel Arteta greatly values Thomas Partey and what he brings to this Arsenal side. The midfielder was instrumental in their title push last season, as the manager expected bigger things with the Ghanaian this season, only for injuries to hamper his progress.

Partey has missed a chunk of the season so far and suffered another setback recently. He could turn up fit in the coming weeks and help the Gunners push for yet another title challenge. But this could be his last season at the Emirates.

There is considerable interest, including Barcelona, who are keen on a cut-price midfielder in the summer. The Ghanaian could prove a solid buy for the Catalans, although he could also have suitors from elsewhere, including in the Premier League.

Arsenal reportedly wanted around €18-20 million to sell the midfield. But the current report states the Gunners could accept a €15 million offer. They had spent €50 million to sign him from Atletico Madrid many years ago, and now they are willing to part ways owing to persistent injury troubles and the fact that he enters the final year of his deal at the Emirates.

Arteta’s midfield plan for next summer

Arteta has been planning his team for next season, and that may involve plenty of critical changes to his current setup. They are willing to splash big on a new striker, while a central midfielder is also considered essential. This term, Arteta may have wanted to test the Partey and Declan Rice partnership, only for the Ghanaian to not stay fit for most parts.

There are already links to Martin Zubimendi as a potential replacement for Partey, as Arteta considers the Spaniard a priority target next summer. If that happens, it will spell the end of Partey and his injury-prone stay at the Emirates.
