Atletico Madrid will reportedly look to sign 27-year-old Spanish international Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Dani Ceballos is the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid. The Colchoneros are in the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. And they have set their sights on the 27-year-old Real Madrid midfielder.
Dani Ceballos and his Real Madrid Journey
Dani Ceballos has been a backup option since joining Real Madrid from Real Betis in July 2017. One of the best young prospects during his stint with his boyhood club, the Spaniard has struggled to establish a foothold as the first-choice midfielder for Los Blancos in the last half a dozen years.
The presence of world-class midfielders like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Eduardo Camavinga has constantly hindered the 27-year-old. But he has given a good account of himself in his 139 appearances thus far for Real Madrid. 19 outings have come this season, with Ceballos still a backup option for Real Madrid.
But despite struggling to make his mark for Real Madrid, Dani Ceballos remains popular in the market. Recent reports have linked the Spanish international with Juventus, who considered signing him in a part-exchange deal. The player has now emerged as a target for Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid also considered signing Ceballos from Real Madrid last year. But a move did not materialise, with the 27-year-old choosing to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu. Atletico Madrid’s continued interest in the Spaniard is understandable, considering the inconsistencies of Saul Niguez.
In addition, Rodrigo De Paul faces an uncertain future at Atletico Madrid amid emerging links with several clubs. So, it behoves Atletico Madrid to invest in a midfielder, with Dani Ceballos emerging as a viable target. And the Colchoneros are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation of the Spanish midfielder.
