Manchester City have struck a deal with Troyes for the services of the 19-year-old Brazilian winger Savinho.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are all set to acquire the services of Savinho. The 19-year-old sensation has been on fire in the ongoing season for Girona, and Pep Guardiola’s team have managed to strike a deal with his parent club Troyes for a transfer in the summer.
The Advent of Savinho
Savinho left Brazil in the summer of 2022 to join City Football Group club Troyes, who compete in France’s second division. He spent the first season out on loan at PSV Eindhoven, where he featured in only eight matches for their first team and contributed towards two goals.
In order to ensure he gets enough game time to develop himself, they decided to send him out on loan at Girona, another club that is owned by the City Group. Since joining the Spanish club, the teenage sensation has been on fire, he has 14 goal contributions in his 27 outings.
The left winger has been given enough game time in the ongoing season, and he has managed to showcase the abilities he possesses. Savinho has played a big part in Girona’s incredible run in La Liga. They are surprise challengers for the league title, and if they are to script a historic title win, the 19-year-old will have to continue in a similar fashion.
The Brazilian youth international dreams of playing for Manchester City, and that is why he joined the City Group in the first place. And, thanks to his impressive performances for Girona, his dream will become a reality in the summer.
Manchester City Move on the Cards
According to Romano, Manchester City feel the 19-year-old is ready to take the Premier League by storm. They have seen him do it in La Liga and are convinced he has the potential to be a special player. Savinho was set to return to his parent club in the summer.
But, with Manchester City striking a deal for his services with Troyes, the teenager will now join the English giants after the end of the ongoing season. While the fee has not been disclosed yet; the documents of the transfer will be signed in the next few days.
There was interest in his services from across Europe. But, the idea was quite clear from the start. The City Group has invested in him because they felt he could help Manchester City in the long run. The player dreams of playing for Guardiola’s team, and that will be a reality in a few months. But for now, he is focused on Girona and their title charge.
