Barcelona, Manchester United closely monitoring Thalys

Barcelona and Manchester United are both interested in 18-year-old Brazilian sensation Thalys, labelled the “next Endrick”.

According to a report by Diario AS, Barcelona and Manchester United are both keen on having Thalys in their ranks. The teenage sensation is expected to be the next big thing in world football, he is considered to be the “new Endrick” of Palmeiras, and as a result, multiple top clubs are monitoring him.

Who is Thalys?

Thalys joined the youth ranks of Palmeiras in 2021, and he has since gone from strength to strength. The 18-year-old is currently a part of their Under-20 setup. While he often trains with the first team, the Brazilian forward is yet to make his senior debut.

People at the club do not want to rush him into the thick of the action. They want to ensure he is well-adjusted to the game at the top and manages to hit the ground running when he gets the chance. Thalys could be promoted to the first team in 2024 or it could even be next year.

The Under-20 star has a contract with the Brazilian club until 2026, and they are in no hurry to negotiate his departure. They feel he is still a work in progress and will need time before making a move to Europe.

Palmeiras have produced quite a few top talents in the recent past. Since the big sale of Endrick to Real Madrid, multiple top clubs have been keeping a close eye on their talents. Thalys is a player that excites Barcelona and Manchester United.

A Prospect in Demand

Suitors feel the 18-year-old forward could go on to achieve a lot of success. As a result, they are closely monitoring him and are planning to make a move. Barcelona and Manchester United are always on the lookout for players who can help them in the long run, and the Palmeiras youth player could be a great fit for both clubs. Both clubs are looking to make a move for him in the next windows.

They are both in need of attacking reinforcement, and the teenager can surely help their cause. While there was an offer from an Italian club for the 18-year-old in the winter, Palmeiras rejected it. He is expected to be a part of their first team in the near future, and they do not want to negotiate his departure as of now.
