Liverpool are looking to push for the services of 27-year-old Barcelona star Raphinha as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool have started to plan for life without Mohamed Salah. The Egypt international has done wonders for the Merseyside club. But he could be on the move to the Middle East in the summer. As a result, the Reds are looking for a replacement, and they feel Barcelona’s Raphinha could be an ideal fit for the club.

Raphinha and his Barcelona Journey

Raphinha was a part of Leeds United before joining Barcelona in the summer of 2022. The 27-year-old has enough experience of playing in the Premier League, and he won’t take time to hit the ground running.

The Brazil international played an important role in Barcelona’s success last season. But he has not had a similar impact this term. He has not been Xavi’s preferred choice on the right flank. While injuries have kept him out from a few fixtures, in his 20 appearances, he has racked up less than 1,000 minutes.

The 27-year-old might not be at his best, but he can surely turn things around, and a move elsewhere can surely help his cause. Liverpool are willing to make a move for his services. The Reds are aware that Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad are likely to return for Salah’s signatures.

Liverpool Scouring the Market for a Salah Replacement

The kind of wages Saudi Pro League clubs are willing to offer might be too hard to turn down for the Egypt international, who will be 32 in the summer. As a result, Liverpool are preparing themselves for a situation where one of their best player leaves.

In order to ensure they have a smooth transition, the Merseyside club are evaluating the possibility of signing Raphinha. Salah’s departure will surely give them enough financial power to acquire a quality replacement.

But, Barcelona won’t make it any easier for them. Irrespective of the kind of role the Brazil international has had, Liverpool will not find it easy while negotiating with the Catalan giants. Liverpool are preparing an imminent offer but it remains to be seen if it will be good enough or not.
