West Ham United are making moves to land 21-year-old Le Havre skipper Arouna Sangante at their club before the end of the deadline.

According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham United are keen on acquiring the services of Arouna Sangante before the end of the transfer window. The Hammers want to bolster their squad within the next few hours, and they have already made moves to land the 21-year-old at the club.

Arouna Sangante on the Rise

Sangante has already made quite a name for himself at Le Havre. Despite being just 21, he is already the skipper of the Ligue 1 club and is on the wishlist of quite a few clubs from across Europe.

The youngster joined the youth ranks of Le Havre in the summer of 2017. He started off with their Under-17 team and made it to the first team in the summer of 2021. The Senegal-born defender has gone from strength to strength since making it to their first team.

He played an integral role in helping them gain promotion to the French top flight last season and has carried on the great work in the 2023/24 season as his club are comfortably mid-table in Ligue 1.

Sangante in Demand

His exceptional performances have not gone unnoticed, and La Havre’s club president Jean-Michel Roussier had already confirmed back in December the fact that numerous Premier League are chasing a January move for the 21-year-old.

West Ham United are one of the clubs interested in the Senegal-born defender. The Hammers want to bolster their defence before the window shuts as they look to push for the Europa League title and are aiming to finish inside the top six of the Premier League. And, they have already made a move to sign the Le Havre skipper.

They are looking to secure his services on loan until the end of the season. While there are no mentions of a potential buy option/obligation, the report does suggest that the negotiations are at an advanced stage.

The Hammers have been quite busy on the deadline day so far, and they are expected to be busy right until the end. With talks in advanced stages for the services of Sangante, it will be interesting to see if West Ham can wrap it up in time.

It’s becoming a absolute joke the way things have gone in this transfer window only Philips has come into the club which is great he will be a real asset to the team but we need a striker so why has that seemed to be put on the back burner the last time we played in the Europa League we were found wanting because we failed to sign a striker Antonio is a spent force he would struggle in the championship as for Ings well he has been one the worst signing ever but he looked the part against Sheffield united but it’s a case of to little to late be surprised if any premier league team would want them at there main striker they just don’t cut it but the buck stops with moyes he needs to get his priorities right by not doing so he has made the rest of the season a lot harder than it should be all the talk about getting into the top four is just not going to happen if the manger and his staff don’t act when it is clear to all that a striker should have been the top priority
