Fulham are eyeing a late move for Jonas Wind, although Wolfsburg’s massive €50 million asking price might put off the Cottagers.

According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, Jonas Wind emerged as a late target for Fulham, who have been keen on signing a new forward this winter. The Danish attacker is reportedly valued at €50 million by Wolfsburg in this window, which might ward off the Cottagers’ interest.

Fulham eyeing Jonas Wind?

Marco Silva might have stressed the need to bring in a new striker in January and has indeed looked at several options, even before the winter market opened. Fulham had been linked with Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez for long periods, but the Mexican may have a bigger club on his mind.

The need to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic has been all too relevant in the ensuing months since his departure from Saudi Arabia. They might have set sights on Danish striker Jonas Wind, with the Wolfsburg star having a good season in the Bundesliga.

Wind has scored ten goals and assisted six times across all competitions, making him one of the most lethal attackers in Germany. While interest in the player has been minimal despite his impressive numbers, Wolfsburg are not eager to entertain late offers.

As per the report, the Bundesliga side are demanding €50 million to sell Wind this month, which could put off Fulham from the chase. Hence, even if the Cottagers hold interest, they might back off for the time being and possibly return in the summer when they can potentially negotiate a lower fee for the Danish star.

Fulham keen on a new attacker

The Cottagers are desperate to bring in a new attacker with goalscoring prowess. They have seen links to Plymouth’s Morgan Whittaker, who could potentially become available for a cheap fee. The Championship side might even look to make a healthy profit on their record-breaking investment if some of the interested Premier League sides come through with their approach.

Then there are links to Armando Broja, with reports suggesting Fulham have already tabled a loan bid for the Albanian. The decision will have to be Chelsea’s, who might feel short in the No.9 role if they let their homegrown star leave.

All smoke and mirrors usual with Tony Khan. I can read the answers already,we tried to buy these players but run out of time. NO WAY WILL KHAN spend £50m on a striker. Again I say what happened to buying Andre?. We had agreement to buy him since November but no purchase. Why is it left until the last days to make possible offers on players, only if you can buy them more cheaply. This tactic rarely works any we show desparation by getting poor quality journey men players who are here for the money. Khan has shown his lack of football knowledge for years in the transfer market. Look at the players tha we have been left with in recent seasons. We need a top striker and two centre backs, we can’t have rubbish like Ream and Diop as our defence any longer. Spend £20 m on Chalobah and £12m on Neilsson as centre backs then buy a top striker.

Fulham should not be in this position again Mitro needed replacing earlier.
When we get drawn into a relegation battle which will come if no goalscorer arrives, then it will fall at the feet of Tony Khan and our “Scouts”.
Even Marko Silva cannot work miracles.
