Manchester United will reportedly have to cough up €70 million to sign 26-year-old Brazilian international Gleison Bremer from Juventus.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Gleison Bremer is the subject of interest from Manchester United. But the Red Devils need to pay a hefty price tag to secure his services. Juventus will demand around €70 million to part ways with the 26-year-old centre-back.
Who is Gleison Bremer?
Gleison Bremer has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A in the last half a dozen years. The Brazilian international spent his formative years in his homeland before moving to Europe in July 2018. And he rose to prominence during his stint with Torino, enjoying a four-year spell at the club.
Juventus came calling in July 2022, and he moved across Turin to embark on a new adventure. The 26-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last 18 months, becoming a mainstay at the back for the Bianconeri. The player has turned out 66 times thus far for Juventus, chipping in with seven goals and an assist.
Bremer’s progress at Juventus has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Recent reports have linked the former Torino defender with several high-profile Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. But he is also a target for Manchester United.
Manchester Calling?
Manchester United’s interest in Gleison Bremer is understandable. The Red Devils will likely lose Raphael Varane in the summer transfer window, with the Frenchman entering the final six months of his contract. In addition, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof face uncertain futures at Manchester United.
So, the Premier League heavyweights need a right-footed centre-back, with Bremer emerging as a viable target. But the 26-year-old Brazilian international will cost a bomb, with Juventus slapping a price tag worth €70 million to part ways with him. That might leave Manchester United in a spot of bother.
The Red Devils are on the wrong side of the Premier League’s Sustainability Rules. That also means a move will only see the light of day in the summer, if at all. So, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United will be ready to pay €70 million to sign Gleison Bremer from Juventus.
