Crystal Palace are seeking a deal for Olympique Marseille striker Iliman Ndiaye before the January transfer deadline.
According to The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are weighing up a late move for Marseille striker Iliman Ndiaye as the Eagles’ manager, Roy Hodgson, looks to add to his attacking options before the winter transfer window slams shut.
Palace are yet to make a senior addition to their first-team squad, but they could be in for a busy end to the January transfer window this week.
The Eagles are close to signing a right-back to compete with Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne before the deadline arrives on Thursday, with the club pushing to finalise an £8.5 million deal for Genk right-back Daniel Munoz, who arrived to complete a medical last Friday.
The Daily Mail also claimed last week that Palace are weighing up a second offer to sign Adam Wharton from Championship side Blackburn Rovers, having already seen their £18.5 million bid turned down by the Lancashire outfit.
He is not the only player on the club’s agenda ahead of the window slamming shut later this week, though, as Marseille’s Ndiaye is also a player of interest.
The 23-year-old is already a familiar name to many Palace fans after their club tried to sign him from Sheffield United last summer, but he wanted to join his boyhood club, Marseille.
However, the Senegal international is available for a transfer away from the French side this month after battling for minutes since his August arrival. In total, he has made 23 appearances for the French club, scoring just once while assisting three times.
A return to Bramall Lane has been mooted, with Everton also keen amid strong reports that the player could be tempted by a Premier League move. Palace are also making a move as they seek to boost their attack.
If Palace could get a deal over the line for the Marseille front-man, he could be such an exciting signing for them, having shone so much for the Blades prior to joining Marseille earlier this year.
Ndiaye registered 24 goal contributions (14 goals and 10 assists) in the Championship for the Blades last season and was named in the Championship team of the season.
The issue for Palace is that Ndiaye is currently in Ivory Coast with Senegal for the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, which could make negotiations tricky.
