Newcastle United are eyeing a bold move to secure the services of the 24-year-old sensation Rafael Leao from AC Milan.

According to Saber Desfarges via Téléfoot, Newcastle United are interested in having Rafael Leao in their ranks. The Magpies are in constant search of players who can help bolster their first team and they feel the Portuguese international could do wonders for them.

Leao was a part of the Sporting CP youth ranks back in the day. He came up the ranks at some pace and made it to their first team at the start of 2018. In the summer of that year, LOSC Lille came calling and acquired his services.

After a successful season with the French club, Italian giants AC Milan managed to sign the Portuguese sensation. The left winger has since featured in a total of 189 matches for the club and has contributed towards 91 goals.

He might not be having the best of seasons this time out but the 24-year-old still has 12 goal contributions in his 26 outings. Leao still has over four years left on his deal with the Italian club but he could still be on his way out in the summer given the amount of interest in his services.

Top clubs in Europe are willing to prise him away and Milan might not be able to resist given the kind of financial situation they are in. PSG are one of the clubs that have been linked with the Portuguese international. They are willing to make a move in the summer.

But, the French giants will have to battle it out with Newcastle United for his services. The Magpies are also monitoring the winger and will look to make a move ahead of next season.

They had an exceptional campaign last time out but have failed to meet similar standards this time. Eddie Howe’s team have suffered at times this season. As a result, they are expected to make major changes in the summer to ensure they can push for the major titles.

While they do have quality forwards in their ranks, the Magpies do need a new leader for their attack. They want to bring in someone who can guarantee goals and Leao seems to be the man. But, winning a race against PSG won’t be easy.
