Tottenham and Aston Villa are vying for Besiktas’s highly-rated attacker, Semih Kilicsoy, who has a contract until 2028.
A host of clubs are keen on Turkish talent Semih Kilicsoy, but Gokmen Ozcan points specifically towards Aston Villa and Tottenham as suitors from the Premier League. The 18-year-old forward has not yet broken into the Besiktas first team setup with conviction, but remains close to becoming a bonafide starter soon.
Aston Villa, Tottenham keen on Semih Kilicsoy
Turkish clubs have consistently produced top talents over the last few years, as some have already secured big moves away from the country, for instance. Arda Guler was the latest high-rated star to move out as he joined Real Madrid last summer.
There are others like Karem Akturoglu and now Besiktas’ Semih Kilicsoy. The latter already has the interest from Aston Villa, who Tottenham now joins in the chase. The Premier League dup are the representatives from the Premier League, as other continental sides like Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are also keen on the 18-year-old forward.
Tottenham could eye him as a possible replacement for Bryan Gil in the long term, with the Spaniard already a loan target for clubs like Brighton, Real Sociedad and Sevilla. The 22-year-old does not have a future in north London, which could see the club bring in someone like Kilicsoy in his place.
Aston Villa have been looking for a left winger, as Unai Emery will likely lean towards a young, emerging star rather than paying big for an established forward. They might angle a move in this window to shore up their squad with the 18-year-old on, but Besiktas are likely expected to stay strong and keep hold of the winger.
Besiktas are likely to keep Semig Kilicsoy this month
Besiktas are in a position of power when making a transfer decision on Kilicsoy this month. While the winger has been attracting interest, his current stature in the Turkish team might see him sold for a smaller fee.
However, Besiktas knows his future potential and would like to nurture him further into a bonafide star.
Kilicsoy has a contract until 2028, which could see the Turkish side keep him until summer. They might also draw up a pathway, which might let them convince the 18-year-old forward to stay for longer.
Interest from top clubs, especially from the Premier League, may prove too tempting for any player, let alone an 18-year-old forward on the brink of becoming a star. While Besiktas might succeed in keeping Kilicsoy this month, they could come under tremendous pressure in the summer.
