Liverpool are keen on signing the Japanese international midfielder Takefusa Kubo at the end of the season.

According to our report from Relevo, Liverpool are among a number of clubs who are looking to sign the Real Sociedad midfielder but the player is keen on staying at the Spanish club until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Spanish club and he has 6 goals and 4 assists to his name across all competitions.

The Japanese international is capable of operating as the central attacking midfielder as well as a winger on either flank. His versatility and technical ability make him a great fit for the Liverpool attack and it remains to be seen whether the Reds can get a deal done.

The 22-year-old is reportedly valued at €60 million and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are prepared to pay that kind of money for him. Real Madrid are keen on signing the player as well and it remains to be seen whether the Spanish giants can bring him back to the club.

The Spanish giant could certainly use more quality and depth in the wide areas next season. The 22-year-old is well-settled in La Liga and he knows the club well. He could make an immediate impact for them.

Kubo joined Real Madrid back in 2019 from FC Tokyo but he left the club without making a substantial impact on the first team. The opportunity to return to his boyhood club could be an attractive proposition for him.

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world as well and if they can promise him regular game time, move to Anfield would be an attractive opportunity as well.

The 22-year-old is certainly good enough to succeed in the Premier League and he could be a key player for Liverpool in the coming seasons.

Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club with his contract coming to an end in 2025. Liverpool will have to bring in a quality replacement and the Japanese international could prove to be a useful acquisition.

He has mostly played on the right flank for Real Sociedad and he could slot into a similar role at Liverpool if Salah decides to move on.

The reported €60 million asking price might seem like a premium right now but the player has the ability to justify the investment in the long term.
