Alfie Harrison Set to Join Newcastle United
He is expected to sign a long-term contract on Tyneside and is due for a medical in the coming days. in what is regarded as a big coup for the club, with Harrison set to join the club’s youth system to start with.
Harrison will soon join Newcastle’s cohort of exciting young talent vying to break into the first-team, with the likes of Yankuba Minteh (on loan at Feyenoord), Alex Murphy, Trevan Sanusi, and Garang Kuol (on loan at FC Volendam) all in the underbelly looking to impress first-team boss Eddie Howe.
While Newcastle’s owners, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, are eager to achieve success sooner rather than later, they also want to ensure that the club can compete with the world’s biggest clubs in the long run. They can do this by continuing to sign promising talent like Harrison, Hall, and Minteh, which will help them massively toe the line with FFP.
Unfortunately for Toon fans, a large chunk of the Newcastle transfer news in the January transfer window has revolved around selling players. Paraguay international Miguel Almiron is the latest subject of interest from outside clubs, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab pushing to land his signature.
It has been claimed that he is the most likely player to leave Newcastle United this month in comparison to Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson, who have also been linked with moves away. If they can rake in a significant fee for Almiron, the Magpies’ plan is to make a late push for Nottingham Forest attacker Morgan Gibbs-White as a replacement.
