According to a report by Daily Mail, Bayern Munich have failed in an attempt to acquire the services of Kieran Trippier. The German giants were keen on bolstering their defence by signing the Newcastle United mainstay. But their initial offer has been turned down by the Magpies. Kieran Trippier at Bayern Munich: The Story So Far

Trippier returned to England in the winter of 2022 as Newcastle United managed to acquire his services for £12 million from Atletico Madrid. The 33-year-old has been a sensation for the Tyneside club since joining them. He has been a leader on and off the pitch, and his performances have been top-notch.

The England international has become an integral part of Eddie Howe’s system, and he will be a key player for them heading into the second half of the season. However, his impressive performances have attracted interest from elsewhere, and his future has become the talking point.

Bayern Munich Want Kieran Trippier

Bayern Munich are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Both their conventional right-backs are out injured, and they are desperately need a new full-back. They feel Trippier will be a perfect fit, as he has a lot of experience and has been in sensational touch of late.

The German club have been in talks with both the club as well as the player. While they have not tasted any success yet on the club’s part, the player surely has agreed to a move. He is keen on joining Bayern if they can strike a deal with the Magpies. Bayern have a verbal agreement in place with the 33-year-old as per Florian Plettenberg.

Unfortunately, Bayern’s first bid has been rejected. But, they are expected to return thanks to the verbal agreement. However, it still won’t be easy for them to land the England international. He is very important to Newcastle, and they won’t sanction his sale unless the offer is too good to be turned down. And, the fact that he only has 18 months left on his deal won’t change that.
