Erik ten Hag is keen on having the 21-year-old Ajax forward Brian Brobbey in his ranks at Manchester United.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants the club to sign Brian Brobbey in the ongoing transfer window. The 21-year-old has been on the radar of the Red Devils of late and they do need reinforcement in attack.

Brobbey was a part of Ajax during his childhood days. He came up the ranks at the club and was a part of the Under-21 team when he left to join RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021. But, things didn’t really go according to plan as he returned to the Dutch club six months down the line on loan until the end of that season.

Once the loan expired and he returned to his parent club, Ajax went in and re-signed him. The 21-year-old has since gone from strength to strength. He has featured in over 100 matches and has contributed towards 51 goals. In the ongoing season, Brobbey has 17 goal contributions in his 25 outings.

His sensational performances in front of goal have resulted in a lot of interest and Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been linked with the Dutch international. The Red Devils are not in the best of situations and they will surely love to have another forward in their ranks.

Rasmus Hojlund who arrived at the club last summer hasn’t been able to hit the ground running. He has struggled and that is why United want to bring in someone who can support the 20-year-old. While they have been linked with Karim Benzema as well, they won’t be pushing for him. Brobbey is a much better alternative for the Manchester-based club.

The Red Devils were interested in him during the summer and their interest still remains intact. Both parties have high appreciation for each other and it will surely help any potential deal between them. While Erik ten Hag wants to reinforce his attack by signing the 21-year-old in the ongoing window, he might not be able to land him at this stage.

Ajax are in no mood to let him leave in the winter and they are the ones in the driving seat as he still has over three years left on his deal with them. But, the Red Devils can surely push for him next summer if Ten Hag is still the boss.
