Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly prioritise signing Leny Yoro, valued at around €50 million by LOSC Lille.
According to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato, Leny Yoro is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The 18-year-old defensive prospect, valued at around €50 million by LOSC Lille, is also a target for Real Madrid. But PSG will prioritise signing him in the summer transfer window.
The Rise of Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro has emerged as one of the hottest young prospects in his homeland in the last 12 months. A native of Saint-Maurice, the French centre-back is a graduate of the LOSC Lille youth division and made his first-team debut in May 2022. While he featured sporadically last season, his stock has soared this term.
The 18-year-old has turned out 23 times thus far this season for Lille, chipping in with three goals. He is one of the biggest reasons his team has the second-best defensive record in Ligue 1 this season. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs.
Recent reports have linked many Premier League bigwigs with Leny Yoro. In addition, he is a target for Real Madrid, although there have been conflicting reports of their interest in the Frenchman. Meanwhile, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on signing him.
PSG, Real Madrid Want Leny Yoro
PSG’s interest in Yoro is understandable amid speculation surrounding the future of the versatile Nordi Mukiele. In addition, Presnel Kimpembe will likely leave Les Parisiens in the summer transfer window. So, it behoves PSG to invest in a young centre-back, with the LOSC Lille defender emerging as the priority summer target.
As for Real Madrid, Jorge Mendes recently offered the youngster’s services to them. The Merengues are scouring the market for a centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window. With Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Nacho on the wrong side of 30, they need a younger option. And Leny Yoro has emerged as an option worth considering for Real Madrid.
LOSC Lille will demand around €50 million to part ways with the 18-year-old Frenchman. That should not be a prohibitive price for either PSG or Real Madrid. So, it will be interesting to see where the teenage sensation lands.
