Tottenham are ready to loan Ryan Sessegnon to help him gain regular football as he only returned from a serious injury recently.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are prepared to loan Ryan Sessegnon to allow him to get regular game time. The 23-year-old utility man had only returned from a severe hamstring injury in their FA Cup win over Burnley and could join several other stars out of the door on a temporary basis.

Tottenham to loan Ryan Sessegnon?

Ryan Sessegnon appeared to have found his place in the Tottenham setup last season following some engaging performances under former boss Antonio Conte. The Italian’s system that uses wing backs favoured the 23-year-old utility man, as he appeared to reach his best levels.

However, injury issues have forced him out of the game for a while now, as the 23-year-old only returned from a hamstring fracture in Tottenham’s FA Cup win over Burnley. He has minimal minutes this season, and barring a prolonged absence for current first-choice left-back Destiny Udogie, Sessegnon might spend more time on the bench.

Hence, Tottenham are open to allowing him a loan departure this month to a club where he can play regularly. Sessegnon has a contract until 2025, meaning Spurs will assess his long-term future over in the summer, and might look to cash in if they receive favourable offers.

They have earmarked Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu as a target, and if they are to sign him this month, then that would spell the end of Sessegnon at Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou is somewhat short in that left-back position, and if they allow the 23-year-old utility man to leave, then, indeed, they must sign a replacement as a backup to Udogie.

Tottenham to allow at least five loan departures?

If Tottenham allow Sessegnon to leave on loan, he could be one of the five players who might depart the club on a temporary basis. They have already seen Djed Spence and Ashley Philips leave on loan, while there are reports insisting Sergio Reguilon could also move on a similar deal.

Bryan Gil is also a loan target for many clubs, with Spurs open to such a departure, and if all those stars leave, then Tottenham would have allowed five loan departures this month alone. As for Sessegnon, he might have a few takers, with the player himself willing to prove his worth with regular game time.

Tottenham have been active in this window with the arrivals of defender Radu Dragusin and attacker Timo Werner. They could move for a midfielder if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg departs, while Postecoglou might also angle a transfer for a new left-back as a cover for Udogie.
