Roberto Firmino was reportedly offered to Real Madrid this month, although Florentino Perez is unlikely to entertain the idea.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign Roberto Firmino from Al-Ahli this month. But Florentino Perez might resist the opportunity. The Brazilian and Liverpool icon has become the latest high-profile star to think of quitting the Saudi Pro League after six months.

Real Madrid offered Roberto Firmino?

The Saudi Pro League entered last summer with a bang, as they managed to lure some high-profile stars out of Europe. Real Madrid saw Karim Benzema leave in the summer, while Liverpool icon Roberto Firmino joined Al-Ahli on lucrative contracts.

There are many other high-profile stars in the Saudi Pro League. But recently, the idea of the league has been unfolding. Jordan Henderson is close to quitting Al-Ettifaq for a return to Europe with Ajax, while there are rumours that Benzema might also leave, with Real Madrid and Manchester United linked.

Firmino reportedly wants a return to England with some clubs keen to take him on a short-term deal. He has now been offered to Real Madrid in a bid to entice Florentino Perez to solve his striker problem and fill the gap left by Benzema’s summer departure.

However, the chances of Perez entertaining the idea of signing the Liverpool icon, who scored 111 goals for the Reds, are slim as a move may not materialise. Real Madrid are not about to invest heavily in a forward during this month, let alone on a 32-year-old striker well past his prime. Hence, any move for the Brazilian to the Santiago Bernabeu is exceptionally slim.

Is Firmino’s Saudi Arabia future in doubt?

As per numerous reports, Firmino appears unhappy with life in the Middle East and has not found his form since a smashing debut game for Al-Ahli. The Brazilian netted a hat-trick on his first foray for his new club but has not found the net in the league since.

Despite speculation surrounding his future mounting, Fabrizio Romano jas denied rumours of an exit from Al-Ahli, while insisting Firmino will stay at the club for the time being. Hence, for now, it is clear that the Brazilian will not move about, although nothing can be said until the end of the current window.

As for Real Madrid, they are eager to find a stop-gap option to enhance their strike force. But there are very few options that suit their side.
