West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Santiago Gimenez before the January transfer window closes.
A report from Football Insider has claimed that West Ham United will have to pay between £30-40 million to sign Santiago Gimenez. They will also face competition from clubs like Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Rise of Santiago Gimenez
The Mexican striker has established himself as one of the brightest young attacking talents in European football, and he helped Feyenoord win the Eredivisie title last season. He has been in splendid form this season as well, scoring 20 goals across all competitions.
There is no doubt that the 22-year-old could transform West Ham United in the final third and help them finish the season strongly. The reported £30-40 million asking price seems reasonable for a player of his potential, and Gimenez could develop into a top-class Premier League striker in the near future.
West Ham United Need a Striker
West Ham have improved their squad massively since the departure of Declan Rice. But they still need a reliable goalscorer. Michail Antonio is past his peak, while Danny Ings remains a concern in terms of availability because of his injury problems. Gimenez would be an upgrade on both players, and he could solve West Ham’s goal scoring problems.
