Burnley are all set to acquire the services of 21-year-old Chelsea attacking sensation David Datro Fofana on a short loan.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Burnley have an agreement in place with Chelsea for the transfer of David Datro Fofana. The 21-year-old striker is all set to join Vincent Kompany’s team on a straightforward loan deal until the end of the season. Burnley are keen on reinforcement as they look to battle relegation, and signing the young forward can surely help their cause.
David Datro Fofana at Chelsea: The Story So Far
David Datro Fofana joined Chelsea in the winter of 2023 from Molde FK. The Blues believe he has huge potential and could do wonders for them in the future. As a result, they invested in him. But, over the next six months, he hardly got any game time. As a result, the 21-year-old joined Union Berlin on loan in search of regular first-team football.
However, things did not go according to plan as Fofana did not get the amount of opportunities he expected. In 17 matches, he was on the pitch for less than 1,000 minutes and could only contribute towards three goals. As a result, the Blues decided to terminate his loan in the winter window.

While he is back at the club, there is no place for him in Chelsea’s first team at this stage. As a result, the Blues were on the lookout for a potential destination, with Sevilla emerging as a suitor. And they have just found one in Burnley.
