Crystal Palace and West Ham United are all set to battle it out for the services of 23-year-old Sunderland winger Jack Clarke.

According to a report by Evening Standard, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are both keen on having Jack Clarke in their ranks. The 23-year-old winger has been in sensational form for the past 12 months, and quite a few Premier League clubs are pushing for his services.

The Jack Clarke Story

Clarke up the ranks at Leeds United before joining Tottenham in the summer of 2019. Things did not go according to plan for the 23-year-old post his move as he was often out on loan. He joined Sunderland on a six-month loan back in the winter of 2022. His impressive performances resulted in a permanent switch to the Black Cats in the summer of 2022, and he has gone from strength to strength since.

Since joining Sunderland, he has featured in a total of 98 matches and has contributed towards 44 goals. In the ongoing season, he is their highest goalscorer in the Championship with 12 strikes in 26 outings. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed.

There was a lot of interest in Clarke’s services during the summer, and there is a similar level of interest in him in the winter window. As many as five Premier League clubs are willing to push for his services. West Ham and Crystal Palace are two clubs willing to battle it out for the 23-year-old.

West Ham United, Crystal Palace Want Jack Clarke

Injuries to Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio have come as a huge blow to West Ham. In addition, with Mohammed Kudus away because of his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations, they need attacking reinforcement. The Hammers feel Clarke has the quality to help their cause. Not only will he provide depth, but he will also add goals to the mix.

Meanwhile, the Eagles also need attacking reinforcement. They do not have much firepower up top and have struggled for goals throughout the season. With Michael Olise out injured for the rest of the month, Crystal Palace are in a spot of bother and signing the 23-year-old could help them out.

While Crystal Palace, and West Ham are willing to battle it out for his signatures, it won’t be easy to prise him away from Sunderland midway through the season as they look to push for a return to the English top flight. However, the report suggests a bid north of around £20 million could force the Black Cats into thinking.
