Tottenham have joined the race for Hayden Hackney, with the Middlesbrough midfielder also attracting the attention of Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to Evening Standard, Tottenham are the latest team to join the hunt for Hayden Hackney. The 21-year-old English midfielder, who has continued to shine for Middlesbrough under Michael Carrick, also has the attention of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Tottenham join Hayden Hackney chase

A host of Premier League sides have seen through their scouts what Hayden Hackney can bring to their team in the future. The 21-year-old English midfielder has impressed under Michael Carrick, with the Boro manager’s former side Manchester United also keen.

Erik ten Hag plans on revamping his midfield options and making steady progress by building a young core. The Dutchman wants more players to complement and compete with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo. Similarly, Liverpool are also keen as Jurgen Klopp continues to scour the market for new midfielders.

The 21-year-old English midfielder would fit either of those Premier League giants and will have been flattered by their interest. Now, he has another suitor in Tottenham, who have joined the race for the 21-year-old English midfielder.

Spurs are open to bringing some of the talented young stars from around and will see the value in signing someone of Hackney’s talent. Ange Postecoglou has been intent on building a young squad of talented individuals and would love someone of Hackney’s stature on his side who has a major future ahead.

Hackney to move in the summer?

There is hardly a chance for Championship sides to keep hold of their talented stars once Premier League clubs start circling. Hayden Hackney will have impressed many when Middlesbrough defeated Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals.

Middlesbrough only recently extended his contract back in the summer until 2027, which could see them resist offers in January. Hence, the likelihood of Hackney moving this month are slim, although a summer move might materialise.

Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester United will prime themselves to start talks with Boro and find an agreement as soon as possible. However, the main focus will be on Middlesbrough’s asking price, as they will certainly demand significantly for their prized asset, especially from Premier League sides.
