Tottenham Hotspur have an agreement in place with Genoa for the transfer of 21-year-old Romanian defender Radu Dragusin.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Radu Dragusin in their ranks. They want to bolster their defence in the ongoing transfer window, and the 21-year-old Genoa defender is their priority target. They are pushing to complete this transfer in the coming days and have reached an agreement with the Serie A outfit.
Radu Dragusin on the Rise
Things might not have worked out for Dragusin at Juventus. But he has managed to get going since joining Genoa in the summer of 2022 on a season-long loan. The move was made permanent last summer, and he has gone from strength to strength since.
The 21-year-old centre-back has made quite a name for himself, and there are multiple clubs from across Europe that would love to acquire his services. Napoli and Bayern Munich are two European giants who are interested in the services of the Romanian international.
But they are behind Tottenham Hotspur in the race for his signatures. And if they do not react in the next few hours with an official offer, they will lose out on the former Juventus defender’s signatures.
Will Tottenham Sign Dragusin?
The NOrth London club got off to a flying start in the new season. They were sitting at the top of the Premier League in the initial phase but injuries and lack of depth in the squad have seen them fall down to the fifth spot. Spurs want to bounce back in the second half, and they are looking to reinforce their squad in order to achieve their targets.
Their Australian manager Ange Postecoglou wants to add a new centre back into the mix, and Dragusin is a player that he admires. The 21-year-old could be a great addition to their ranks for the short as well as long term. He will not only add depth to their backline but will also add a lot of quality.
Tottenham have been in talks with Genoa for a while now, and both clubs have reached a full agreement about the transfer this morning. While Il Grifone wanted a fixed fee of €30 million, Spurs have managed to convince them to agree on a transfer that will cost them €25 million plus add-ons. The player is all set to pen down a deal until the summer of 2029. If nothing changes, Dragusin should be a Tottenham player within the next 24 to 48 hours.
