Arsenal are reportedly close to losing out to RB Leipzig in the race for 17-year-old sensation Dino Klapija, who likes the idea of moving to Germany.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are losing its chase of Dino Kjlapija as RB Leipzig have emerged as the front-runners for the 17-year-old New York-born attacking sensation. The forward played for NK Kustosija, and many clubs are vying for his signature.

Arsenal set to lose Dino Klapija race

The Gunners are in the market for some of the best talents as their scouts continue to observe some of the top talents from elsewhere. One of them is NK Kustosija’s teenage star Dino Klapija, with other clubs also vying for the 17-year-old New York-born attacking sensation’s signature.

Arsenal have been interested for some time now, with Gunners’ scouts constantly keeping tabs on the Croatian talent. However, as per the reports, the North Londoners did not impress Klapija’s family enough to make them believe the pathway at the club for the centre-forward is the right one.

Manchester United were also interested. But now, it appears RB Leipzig have set the tone for the teenager. The German giants have impressed the family of the 17-year-old attacking sensation, as they are set to sign him in a reported £4.8 million deal.

His family reportedly feel the pathway to the first team is much easier at Leipzig than at other clubs, including Arsenal. The Gunners are vying for multiple honours and have resorted to bringing established talents in the past few years, which may have taken them away from a move for Klapija.

Arsenal’s transfer activity in January

The Gunners are vying for some top professionals ahead of the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta remains keen to sign someone to strengthen their squad. They have needed a new striker. But Dino Klapija or someone of that age group may not have the minerals to help the team now.

They are also interested in young players in other positions, like Dutch defender Jorrel Hato. As for Klapija, they were keen to find a breakthrough. But now it appears Leipzig is close to tying the attacker up for the future.

Arsenal is eager to strengthen their first team squad. But the club might sell a few players, with Emile Smith Rowe one of those likely to leave. They will keep tabs on other young stars for the future. But in the case of Klapija, they are certainly out.
