Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly offered £23 million to sign Radu Dragusin from Serie A club Genoa.
According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Radu Dragusin remains a top target for Tottenham Hotspur in the ongoing January transfer window. And the North London club have submitted a bid worth £23 million to sign the Romanian international from Serie A club Genoa.
Radu Dragusin Thriving at Genoa
Radu Dragusin has established himself as one of the best young defenders in Serie A since joining Genoa. The 21-year-old had struggled to establish a foothold at Juventus after graduating from the club’s youth division. He had to embark on multiple loan spells away from the Serie A club.
But Dragusin has not looked back since joining Genoa. Il Gifone initially signing him on loan before completing a permanent transfer last summer. The Romanian international has turned out 62 times thus far for Genoa, chipping in with six goals and one assist. Meanwhile, Dragusin’s progress at the Serie A club has not gone unnoticed.
Widespread reports have linked the young centre-back with several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona. Napoli also recently joined the race to sign the Genoa defender in the January transfer window. But his next destination should be Tottenham, with the North London club pushing for his signature.
Tottenham Keen on Signing Dragusin
Tottenham had hoped to seal the deal to sign Radu Dragusin last week. But Napoli’s entry into the picture complicated matters, delaying the North London club’s movement. However, the Premier League heavyweights are looking to pull clear of Napoli in the race to sign the 21-year-old.
They have now submitted their second offer to secure Dragusin’s services in the January transfer window. The report by Corriere dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness) has claimed that they have submitted a bid worth £23 million. But recent updates have pointed to a higher asking price for the Genoa defender. So, it is unclear if Tottenham’s proposal will hit the spot.
Tottenham’s bid worth £23 million is not too far away from Genoa’s valuation. So, it will be interesting to see if the North London club can finally seal the deal to sign Radu Dragusin from the Serie A club this month.
