Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing 23-year-old French defender Loic Bade from Sevilla this month.
According to El Chiringuito TV, Tottenham are plotting a January move for 23-year-old Sevilla defender Loic Bade, and they could submit an offer soon.
Loic Bade to Tottenham Soon?
The Frenchman has shown his quality in La Liga with Sevilla, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club. Tottenham are in desperate need of central defenders and Bade would be a long-term investment for them. That 23-year-old is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He could be a key player for the Londoners for the foreseeable future.
It will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit are prepared to sanction his departure this month. Sevilla paid a fee of around €12 million for the Frenchman, and they will look to make a substantial profit if they sell him in January. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to pay up.
Tottenham Need a Centre-Back
The Premier League outfit currently have Cristian Romano and Micky van de Ven as the only reliable central defenders. Eric Dier has been linked with a move away from the club this month. So, Tottenham will need to bring in adequate replacements.
Spurs have been linked with the move for Romanian defender Radu Dragusin as well. However, there are rumours that Napoli could beat them to his signature. It is fair to assume that Bade could be an alternative to the Genoa defender.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be an attractive option for the Frenchman and he is likely to be tempted. But it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a fee first. Spurs will have to tighten up defensively to secure Champions League qualification this season.
They have been quite vulnerable defensively, and they cannot afford to concede goals freely if they wanted to finish the season strongly. They started the season really well, but the injuries to key defenders have seen them drop valuable points in recent weeks. Tottenham must look to sign a quality central defender before the January transfer window closes.
