Bayern Munich ready to offer part-exchange deal for Ronald Araujo

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are ready to offer one of three star players to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ronald Araujo is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. But the Bundesliga champions know that the 24-year-old Barcelona mainstay will cost a bomb. So, they are ready to offer a part-exchange deal to lower the asking price, with Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sane on offer.

The Rise of Ronald Araujo

Ronald Araujo has blossomed into one of the best defenders in the world since joining Barcelona. The Uruguayan international had to bide his time to break into the first-team squad. But he has not looked back since establishing a foothold in the senior team a few years ago, rising in stature with every passing season.

The 24-year-old is now a mainstay at the back for Barcelona, featuring for the Blaugrana whenever he is available. Araujo’s market value also reflects his rising stature, as it currently stands at a whopping €70 million. Meanwhile, the player’s progress at the Catalan club has not gone unnoticed.

Several high-profile Premier League clubs have shown interest in Ronald Araujo in the last few transfer windows. But a move has never materialised, as neither party has wanted to part ways. However, Bayern Munich will look to test Barcelona’s resolve after recently submitting an enquiry for him.

Bayern Munich Keen

Bayern Munich’s interest in Araujo stems from Thomas Tuchel’s desire to bolster his squad’s defensive unit. Matthijs de Ligt is not his ideal centre-back, while Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae have blown hot and cold. So, it behoves Bayern Munich to invest in a top-class central defender this year, with the Barcelona mainstay emerging as a viable target.

The Bundesliga champions are ready to offer a part-exchange deal to reduce his price tag. The report has claimed that they are willing to include one of de Ligt, Joshua Kimmich, and Leroy Sane in the arrangement. Such an update contradicts recent suggestions, which pointed to Bayern Munich’s willingness to pay big to sign Ronald Araujo.

Nonetheless, receiving Kimmich, in particular, might be an attractive proposition for Barcelona. The German international features on the Catalan club’s wishlist. But the claims by Fichajes seem preposterous, and a part-exchange deal seems unlikely.
