Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached out to Juventus regarding 20-year-old English winger Samuel Iling-Junior.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Premier League sides Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on securing the services of Juventus star Samuel Iling-Junior. They have already approached the Serie A club for the 20-year-old winger.
Samuel Iling-Junior and His Frustrations for Juventus
The Englishman is one of the finest young players on the Bianconeri’s roster. He made his debut in 2022 and has since evolved into a key player for Massimiliano Allegri, making 24 appearances for Juventus under his tutelage, scoring once and making three assists.
Primarily a left-winger, the youngster is capable of doing a job on the other flank and also in central midfield if needed. This versatility puts him in good stead given the dynamic nature of the modern game.
Premier League Return on the Cards?
Aston Villa and Tottenham are enjoying fine seasons with the prospect of a top-four finish very much in the offing. Regardless of how the rest of the campaign pans out, it is imperative that they continue to rebuild and bring in the best talents from across Europe.
Ange Postecoglou has had to rely on Son Heung-min to replace the goalscoring void left behind by the sale of Harry Kane. Bringing in Iling-Junior will help the Tottenham boss deploy Son further upfield, freeing him from the responsibilities out wide. Iling-Junior has thus emerged as a viable target for Tottenham.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, have just one specialist left-winger in their senior ranks in Leon Bailey. Adding Iling-Junior should give Unai Emery depth and options in the long term. Beating Brighton and Tottenham to the 20-year-old’s signature will certainly be a coup for the Villans.
Both Premier League clubs have contacted Juventus but are yet to make a formal offer for Iling-Junior’s services. Valued at around €18 million, the youngster could be considered expendable as Juventus aim to bring in funds for a rebuild. Should Iling-Junior fulfil his potential, the price could very well prove to be a snip.
The winger is not unfamiliar with life in England, having come up through the Chelsea youth system. Having left Stamford Bridge just three years ago, it remains to be seen if a homecoming is on the cards in 2024.
