Manchester United have reporteldy made a €25.5 million bid for Galatasaray right back Sacha Boey, who is keen on leaving the Turkish side.
Fotomac insists Manchester United have made a €25.5 million offer for Sacha Boey. The French defender is reportedly open to leaving Galatasaray in January as Erik ten Hag eyes an important defensive signing in the next window to shore up his backline.
Manchester United have previously searched for a new right-sided defender and had plans to sign a right-back, too. However, Erik ten Hag stuck with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as his regulars, with the former being the clear-cut starter for the Red Devils this season.
Wan-Bissaka offers a great deal defensively but is sometimes abject in the final third, something Dalot excels at. The latter performed a monstrous performance in the draw at Anfield against Liverpool, although he received a bizarre double-yellow right at the death.
As the January window approaches, Ten Hag could revisit his idea of bringing a new right back to replace Wan-Bissaka and potentially provide Dalot with tough competition. They are keen on Sacha Boey, with the Galatasaray star excelling for the club in the last 18 months.
He also performed well during Galatasaray’s win over Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier in the season, which may have given Ten Hag a direct insight into his talents. He remains a target heading into the next window, and reports suggest the Red Devils have made an offer.
Manchester United have reportedly lodged a €25.5 million bid to sign the French defender, who remains keen to leave Galatasaray for a more significant challenge. The Red Devils could offer him an excellent platform to excel, with Boey previously thinking about a move, having seen links to Arsenal since the summer.
He has remained on the Gunners’ radar heading into the next window, but if Manchester United have made an offer, then they might have the upper hand. If Galatasaray agrees to the €25.5 million offer for the French defender, he could become their record sale for now.
Boey might have dreamed of playing in the Premier League, and Manchester United could become a solid club for him to start this new adventure. The accuracy of this report could get clearer as January inches closer, although Ten Hag will think about adding in that position, mainly if the club can sell Wan-Bissaka.
