Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been linked with a move away from the club, and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing him.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that PSG are now locked in a three-way battle to sign Casemiro. Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are both keen on signing the 31-year-old defensive midfielder, and a move away from Manchester United might be on the cards.

Casemiro At Manchester United: The Story So Far

Manchester United paid £70 million for Casemiro when they signed him from Real Madrid, and they will hope to recoup most of that if they sell him in January. The Brazilian midfielder has not been at his best this season, and his performances have been rather underwhelming. He is unlikely to get any better at this stage of his career, and it makes sense to cash in on him.

Moving to Saudi Arabia could be an interesting opportunity for the Brazilian at this stage of his career. He would get to earn lucrative contracts at the Saudi clubs, and the lower intensity of the Pro League could extend his career as well. Meanwhile, PSG are also one of the biggest clubs in the world.

PSG Calling?

Casemiro is reportedly  ready for another challenge at this stage of his career. He did quite well with Manchester United last season, helping them win a domestic trophy. He won several major trophies during his time at Real Madrid and might fancy his chances of winning trophies with PSG as well. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to sign a quality replacement if they sanction his departure. They are already lacking a specialist defensive midfielder apart from him, and it remains to be seen whether they can bring in the right alternatives.

Manchester United have had a disappointing season so far, and they cannot afford to risk that getting worse by selling important first-team players in January. It would be ideal if the Red Devils held on to the Brazilian midfielder until the end of the season and then decided on his future in the summer.

Even though Casemiro has not been at his best, he remains a world-class player on his day and he could be an important player for Manchester United during the second half of the season.
