Brighton looking to steal a march on Tottenham for Samuel Iling-Junior

Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton are aiming to hijack Tottenham’s pursuit of 20-year-old Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Brighton could end up winning the race for the services of Samuel Iling-Junior. The 20-year-old forward is all set to part ways with Juventus in the upcoming transfer window and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having him in their ranks but the Seagulls could hijack the deal.

Iling-Junior was a part of the Chelsea youth ranks back in the day. He left the London club at the age of 16 and joined Juventus in the summer of 2020. He then went up the ranks and made it to their first team towards the end of 2022.

But, things have been going according to the plan for the England youth international since getting promoted to the first-team. He has had limited game time and Massimiliano Allegri feels he is not the perfect fit for his system. The former Chelsea winger is surplus to requirements at the Italian club and they are looking to cash in on him with his contract running out in the summer of 2025.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Spurs want to bolster their attack in the upcoming window. Their manager Ange Postecoglou feels they do not have the much-needed depth and he is focused on making the necessary additions in the winter.

Signing a new forward is one of his priorities and Iling-Junior could be a great addition to their ranks. While Tottenham are leading the race for his signatures and they haven’t made any formal contacts with the club. As a result, other interested clubs are very much in the race.

Brighton have emerged as a potential destination for the 20-year-old. They have a long-standing interest in the Juventus winger and could be tempted to reignite their interest in his services now that he is available for a transfer window.

Roberto De Zerbi feels the need for attacking reinforcement and feels Iling-Junior could be a great long-term solution for the club and he has the potential of becoming a special player.

While earlier it was suggested that Juventus wanted £20 million for his services, the report reveals that they are ready to part ways with him for just £15 million, a fee both Brighton and Tottenham won’t have a problem paying. As a result, it will be interesting to see who wins the race for his services.
