Arsenal can acquire the services of 20-year-old Santos sensation Marcos Leonardo for a bargain price of less than €15 million.

According to a report by Goal, Arsenal are keen on having Marcos Leonardo in their ranks and they could acquire the services of the 20-year-old Real Madrid target for a bargain price following Santos’ relegations from the Brazilian top flight.

Leonardo came up the ranks and made it to the Santos first team back in the summer of 2020. He has gone from strength to strength since getting promoted to the senior team. He already has 168 appearances for Santos and has even contributed towards 65 goals.

In the 2023 season, he found the back of the net on 21 occasions and even bagged four assists. His impressive performances have caught the eyes of European giants and they are ready to make a move for his services.

AS Roma wanted to sign him in the summer and they even submitted a bid worth €12 million plus €6 million in add-ons. But their offer was rejected as Santos wanted a minimum of €15 million as a fixed fee for the 20-year-old.

But a lot has changed since the end of the summer transfer window. Santos have been relegated from the Brazilian Serie A and they have assured the player that they will let him leave next month. Their relegation will have a direct impact on the price and Santos might have to accept an offer worth less than €15 million for the Brazilian youth international.

Arsenal meanwhile could sign him for a bargain price. The Gunners want to bolster their attack in the upcoming window and Leonardo has been on their radar for a while now. Mikel Arteta feels the 20-year-old has huge potential and he could be a great signing for the present as well as the future.

The north London club have already enquired about the player. They might not have submitted an official proposal yet but are considering making an offer in the winter. Meanwhile, the Gunners could face competition from Real Madrid who made contact to understand the players’ situation at Santos.

Even Los Blanco haven’t put forward an offer for the 20-year-old but they could soon start making moves as the winter transfer window is in just over two weeks.
