Manchester United and Newcastle United have received a major boost in their pursuit of 27-year-old VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

According to Christian Falk, Serhou Guirassy has rejected a new contract offer from VfB Stuttgart as he looks to join a bigger club in the upcoming transfer window. Newcastle United and Manchester United are among the clubs keen on having him in their ranks.

Serhou Guirassy and the Rise to Stardom

Serhou Guirassy has been the talk of the town of late because of his incredible form in front of goal. The 27-year-old striker has taken his game to another level since joining VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2022. He initially joined them on a season-long loan, but the move was made permanent last summer on the back of his impressive debut season.

The Guinea international had a total of 16 goal contributions last season, and he has already overtaken that tally with more than half of the season still left. In the ongoing campaign, Guirassy has 18 goals and two assists in just 14 matches.

Manchester United or Newcastle United: Where Will Guirassy Land?

His incredible run has attracted a lot of attention, and top clubs from across Europe want to sign him. Manchester United and Newcastle are among the clubs keen on securing the services of Serhou Guirassy. The Red Devils are looking for more firepower up top.

Rasmus Hojlund has had a decent start to life in England. He has scored quite a few goals in the UEFA Champions League but has failed to fire in the Premier League. As a result, Manchester United want another number nine and have their eyes set on the Bundesliga striker.

As far as the Magpies are concerned, they lack depth up top. Multiple injuries have left Newcastle United in a spot of bother, and Eddie Howe wants to sign a new forward to ensure they can push for a top-four spot with the second half of the season still to play for.

Serhou Guirassy has already proven his mettle in the Bundesliga, and he could be a great fix for the club. Both the English clubs have received a major boost as the player has rejected a new contract offer from the German club.

Stuttgart are well aware of the amount of interest in their star striker’s services, and they fear he could be on his way out in the winter because of his €17.5 million release clause. As a result, they tried to buy out the clause but have failed in their attempt, and the 27-year-old looks all set for a move to a European giant in the upcoming transfer window.
