Arsenal table an offer worth €20 million plus bonuses for the services of Manchester United target Marcos Leonardo.

According to a report by Fichajes, Arsenal are keen on having Marcos Leonardo in their ranks. The 20-year-old sensation has made quite a name for himself with impressive performances for Santos and now seems all set to join a European elite in the upcoming transfer window.

Leonardo has come up the ranks at Santos, he made it to their first team in the summer of 2020 and has gone from strength to strength since. He already has 168 first-team appearances and has even contributed towards a total of 65 goals.

The Brazil youth international has found the back of the net on 54 occasions. In the 2023 season, he scored a total of 21 goals and even bagged four assists. His impressive performances have resulted in interest from across Europe and clubs are keen on his signatures.

While the 20-year-old’s contract with the Brazilian club runs until the end of 2026, he is all set to part ways with them in the winter. Leonardo wants to join a bigger club in the upcoming window and with Santos relegated to the second division, they might not be able to stand in his way.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester United are two English clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Red Devils might have signed Rasmus Højlund in the summer but they are still on the lookout for another number nine.

Erik ten Hag wants more firepower and Leonardo is someone who can help them in the short as well as long term. He might not be ready to go from the start but the 20-year-old does have huge potential. While the Red Devils are keen, they are behind Arsenal in the race.

The Gunners want more firepower up top and they feel Leonardo could be a great term solution. The Gunners rate him quite highly and feel he could do wonders for them in the long run. As a result, they are keen on winning the race for his signatures.

The north London club want to acquire his services right at the start of the transfer window and have already submitted an offer worth €20 million plus bonuses for the Brazilian youth international. While Arteta’s team have moved quite quickly, they could still face competition from elsewhere.
