Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are keen on acquiring the services of Raphinha and could offer Jadon Sancho in return.
According to a report by SPORT, Manchester United are looking to offer Jadon Sancho in a swap deal to acquire the services of Raphinha. The Red Devils want to get the 23-year-old England international off their books as quickly as possible. And, they feel a swap deal will be an ideal scenario for them.
Sancho made a name for himself while playing for Borussia Dortmund back in the day. He was considered to be one of the best young talents in the game. As a result, Manchester United broke the bank and forked out €85 million to sign him.
But, the transfer hasn’t worked out as planned. He has struggled since joining the Red Devils in the summer of 2021. The 23-year-old’s behaviour has come into question as he was often late for training and at the start of the ongoing season he had a public rift with manager Erik ten Hag.
Things have gone from bad to worse post that as the England international has been dropped from the first team. He has no involvement with the first team and the Dutch manager is keen on offloading him in the winter. But, he is well aware of the fact that they cannot recoup the €85 million they had invested back in the day.
As a result, he wants to make the best use of Sancho by swapping him for a player of a similar profile who could fill the void. Ten Hag is keen on having the Raphinha in his ranks. The Brazil international has the experience of playing in England and he could easily slot into the United front line.
The Red Devils are looking to swap Sancho for the 26-year-old Brazilian. But, it will be interesting to see what stance Barcelona and Deco have on this transfer. The former Portuguese international is currently the sporting director of the Spanish club and he was the Brazilian’s agent back in the day.
Raphinha hasn’t had the best of times since joining the Catalan giants and even he was a big-money signing. As a result, the Red Devils feel there could be a possibility of a swap deal and are willing to try their luck.
