Gianluca Di Marzio believes Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will play at a bigger club than Napoli next year, with tremendous interest from elsewhere.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio via Il Napolista, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could leave Napoli next year, with the 22-year-old attacker likely to join one of the top clubs outside of Italy. There’s tremendous interest in the Georgian from the Premier League and La Liga, with the Naples side set to slap a massive price tag.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was one of the architects of Napoli’s success last season, as the club won the Scudetto after a 33-year wait. The 22-year-old attacker, alongside attack partner Victor Osimhen, was one of the top performers in Italy, but things have been a bit different this time.
Napoli need help to retain their Serie A crown and have had many off-field problems, especially with Osimhen. As for Kvaratskhelia, there are suggestions that he has struggled with form, but journalist Gianluca Di Marzio insists it’s also down to many factors, especially after the departure of former manager Luciano Spalletti.
The journalist also insists Kvaratskhelia could leave Napoli next summer, with many clubs already chasing his signature. Liverpool are keen to bring him as a Mohamed Salah replacement but will have to face competition from some clubs with more financial clout.
Di Marzio said, “I think Kvaratskhelia is a top player and has had an incredible impact at Napoli and in European football. He is still growing. I don’t agree with those who say that Kvara isn’t playing at his talent level this year. I think this is a very difficult year for Napoli and for Kvara himself after Spalletti’s departure.”
“I am sure that this year we will see a Kvaratskhelia with more character. I don’t know if we’ll see him at Napoli next year, I only know that Kvara’s destiny is to play for one of the top 5 clubs in the world like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United.”
Those clubs named by Di Marzio are interested, with Napoli reportedly demanding at least €100 million to sell Kvaratskhelia. For that price, and considering his age, it’s close to current market standards, as clubs will line up to fight for the right to sign him.
Chelsea are also in the hunt, but Manchester United recently saw multiple links to the 22-year-old attacker. In any case, whichever team signs him, he can become a long-term option there.
As for Real Madrid, they are in the market for a new attacker, with reports suggesting they might abandon their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe. If they can convert Vinicius Junior into a striker, it leaves room for a new left winger, and Kvaratskhelia might become that. Conversely, Barcelona are also keen, but the finances involved could see them drop out of the race. x
