Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Lille defender Tiago Santos.
Tiago Santos has done quite well for Lille this season, and his performances have attracted the attention of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham as per TEAMtalk.
Chelsea need to sign a quality right-back, and Santos certainly fits the profile. Reece James has had a number of injury problems in recent seasons, and the Blues need more depth in that area. Santos could compete with James and Malo Gusto for the starting spot, and he could be the ideal replacement the England international, a target for Real Madrid.
Manchester United need an upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot, and Tiago Santos would be a superb option to have. The talented young defender could compete with his compatriot Dalot or Wan-Bissaka for the starting berth at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Tottenham already have Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal in their squad. It would be surprising if they decided to sign a third right-back. That said, Emerson has been sub-par at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium recently, and the 21-year-old defender is signed as the Brazilian’s replacement.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, Trent Alexander-Arnold could move into the midfield permanently. So, they might need to bring in a quality right-back soon. Tiago Santos would be a superb long-term addition for them, and Liverpool could help him develop into a top-class Premier League defender.
The opportunity to join a Premier League club can be quite tempting for most players, and the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are some of the biggest clubs in the world. They will be attractive destinations for the young defender. But it remains to be seen whether Lille are prepared to sell him. Les Dogues have recently signed him on a long-term contract and the French club are under no pressure to let him go.
In addition, the 21-year-old must look to join a club where he will be guaranteed first-team action so that he can continue his development with regular game time.
