Liverpool and Manchester United are both keen on acquiring the services of 26-year-old Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Liverpool and Manchester United are both keen on adding another striker to their ranks, and they have their eyes set on Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram. The 26-year-old has been in sensational form since joining the Italian club, and there is a lot of interest in his services from across Europe. A €70 million sale might be on the cards.
Marcus Thuram made a name for himself while playing for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga. After a four-year-long stint with the German club, he decided to part ways with them last summer.
The French international decided against renewing his deal with Gladbach as he wanted to join a bigger club. And, he then made a move to Inter Milan as a free agent ahead of the ongoing season. Thuram has since featured in a total of 19 matches, contributing towards 16 goals.
He has penned down a five-year-long deal with Inter but could still end up parting ways with them in the upcoming winter transfer window. Manchester United and Liverpool are two clubs keen on having him in their ranks.
Despite having two quality strikers in his ranks, Jurgen Klopp still wants to add another number nine to the mix. He is a huge admirer of the Inter forward and would love to have him in their ranks. As far as the Red Devils are concerned, they might have signed Rasmus Hojlund in a big-money move during the summer. But he is not the answer to all their questions.
Ten Hag wants to sign someone who is already a proven goalscorer, and Thuram surely fits the bill. With Anthony Martial expected to part ways with the club in the near future, signing the French international can surely help their cause.
While Inter Milan will not want to deprive themselves of a player like Thuram, they have their own financial concerns, and his departure can help them in that perspective. His potential sale could raise as much as €70 million, and it will be registered as profit as the 26-year-old had joined them for free last summer.
