Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sgn 20-year-old Real Madrid and Manchester United target Antonio Silva.

According to a report by Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Antonio Silva in their ranks. Spurs are looking to bolster their defence, and their manager Ange Postecoglou wants to sign a player who can compete with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero for a place in the starting XI. And, he feels the 20-year-old Benfica centre-back could be a great fit for the club.

Despite being just 20, Antonio Silva has already established himself in the heart of the defence of the Portuguese club. He made it to their first team back in the summer of 2022 and has gone from strength to strength since. The youngster has already made seven appearances for the Portuguese national team.

Silva’s impressive rise and consistent performances have attracted a lot of attention. Manchester United and Real Madrid are two clubs who are interested in the 20-year-old, who has a €100 million release clause in his contract.

The Red Devils have suffered in the ongoing season because of injuries to their key defenders. So, Erik ten Hag is now looking to sign a solid centre-back who can help them in the short as well as long term.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid do not have much depth in the heart of the defence, and three of their four defenders are 30 or above. As a result, they want to sign a young defender and they feel Silva could be a great fit for the club.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have been monitoring the 20-year-old for a while now. But Tottenham are now looking to win the race for his signatures. Spurs have just entered the race, and they are quite serious about their pursuit.

Ange Postecoglou might have done wonders since taking charge. But he is aware of the fact that they do not have much depth. As a result, the Australian boss wants to sign players who can help them push for the league title next season. Silva is a priority target for Postecoglou as he looks to reinforce their defence.

The Australian manager wants to sign someone who can push Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero for a place in the starting XI, and he feels the Portuguese international will be a perfect fit for the club. The Benfica defender will help them in the short as well as long term. But, his €100 million release clause could be a problem for the North London club.
