Real Madrid rival Barcelona in Luis Diaz pursuit

Real Madrid are all set to battle it out with Barcelona for the signatures of 26-year-old Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.

According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid and Barcelona are both keen on having Luis Diaz in their ranks. Both La Liga giants have been closely monitoring the 26-year-old Liverpool winger as they look to land him at their club.

Diaz joined Liverpool in the winter of 2022 for a fee of €45 million. The Colombian international has gone from strength to strength since joining the Merseyside club. He has featured in a total of 62 matches for the Reds and has contributed towards 24 goals.

In the ongoing season, the Colombian international has featured in 15 matches and has been on the pitch for close to 900 minutes. The 26-year-old has contributed towards five goals. Diaz has become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s team, and his impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention.

The Colombian international is on the radar of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Both Spanish giants are always on the lookout for talented players who can improve their squad and help them stay at the top of European football. Both clubs feel Diaz could be a great fit for their system.

The Catalan giants might be struggling financially, but they have taken steps to ensure things are under control. And, despite their financial concerns, Barcelona tend to get the players they want. As far as Real Madrid are concerned, recent injuries have made it clear that they need more depth in attack, and Diaz could be a great option for them.

Both the Spanish clubs are quite serious about their pursuit of the 26-year-old and have already made an enquiry about his availability. Real Madrid and Barcelona have asked Liverpool about the possibility of signing the Colombian international in the near future. However, the Merseyside club have made it clear that they have no intentions of selling the former FC Porto winger any time soon.

Liverpool consider him to be an important part of their future plans and with his contract running until the summer of 2027, they do not have anything to worry about. Despite knowing Liverpool’s stance, Real Madrid and Barcelona continue to monitor Diaz’s situation at Anfield closely.
