Newcastle United are keen on acquiring the services of the 26-year-old Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer of 2024.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Newcastle United are keen on acquiring the services of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The 26-year-old striker has been on their radar of late and they are plotting a move for him in the summer of 2024.
Calvert-Lewin came through the ranks at Sheffield United before making a move to Everton in the summer of 2016. He has since featured in 220 matches and has contributed towards 84 goals. Over the years, he has become one of the mainstays of the team.
The 26-year-old had an injury-prone season last time out and could only feature in a handful of games. He has recovered well and is now back in full fitness. In the ongoing campaign, he has 11 appearances and has contributed towards five goals.
The England international’s contract with the English club runs until the summer of 2025 and with just over 18 months left on his deal, there is a lot of interest in his services. Newcastle United are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. While Everton want to offer him a new deal, their recent FFP sanction has complicated things.
The Magpies want to further bolster their attack and are looking to sign a new striker in the winter as well as the summer. Recent injuries to Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson have shown the Magpies that they lack depth in attack.
And, in order to avoid such a situation, they are looking to sign a new striker in the winter. But, they won’t stop there, Newcastle also want to add another number nine in the summer and Calvert-Lewin is their primary target.
The England international has no intentions of parting ways with them in the winter, he is looking to show patience and help the club fight through a tough spell where they have been handed a 10-point deduction and are looking to survive in the English top flight.
