Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of the 29-year-old Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch.

According to Christian Falk, Newcastle United are keen on having Marvin Ducksch in their ranks. The Magpies are looking to bolster their attack in 2024, and they have their eyes on the 29-year-old German international, who has been in fine form in the ongoing season.

Ducksch came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund. But, things did not go according to plan for him at the German club. After leaving Dortmund in the summer of 2016, he had multiple short stints at different clubs before joining Werder Bremen in the summer of 2021.

Since joining Bremen, he has featured in 76 matches and has contributed towards 60 goals. The 29-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the years. In the ongoing campaign, he has ten goal contributions in 12 outings.

Ducksch’s consistent performances have attracted the attention of Newcastle United. The Magpies’ priority is to sign a new midfielder in the short term, but they are also thinking about signing a new striker. They want depth in attack, something they lack at this stage.

Recent injuries to their striker duo Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson have shown that the Magpies do not have much depth up top. They have been forced to way their wide players out of position to ensure they fill the void left due to the injuries.

The Magpies have made up their mind, they want to sign a striker in the upcoming transfer window as well as the summer. They are expected to push for the signatures of Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer of 2024 and could make a move for the German international in the winter.

While the report has no clear mention of when they will move for the 29-year-old, they are expected to try and sign him in the near future. The former Dortmund youth product has a contract until the summer of 2026 with the German club and they are quite happy to have him in their ranks for years to come. But, it seems Newcastle will try to prise him away from Germany as they are keen on having Ducksch in their ranks.
