Juventus have held talks with 30-year-old Arsenal defensive midfielder Thomas Partey over a move in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Foot Mercato, Juventus are keen on having Thomas Partey in their ranks. The Serie A giants are looking to reinforce their midfield in the winter transfer window, and they have their eyes set on the 30-year-old Arsenal star.

Partey came through the ranks at Atletico Madrid and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team. He then made a move to Arsenal in a €50 million deal in October 2020 and has since been a great servant for the north London club.

The 30-year-old midfielder has been a key part of Arsenal’s midfield under the guidance of Mikel Arteta. He played an integral role last season as the Gunners fought for the league title right until the end.

But, a lot has changed since the end of last season. Arsenal have signed Declan Rice from West Ham United in a big-money move. Rice is currently the mainstay of the Gunners’ midfield and Partey has only featured in four league games because of the multiple injuries that he has suffered.

While Arteta still wants to have the 30-year-old in his ranks, the player is looking to make a move elsewhere in the upcoming transfer window. With his contract at Arsenal running out in the summer of 2025, it could be the ideal time to cash in on the Ghana international.

Juventus are keen on having Partey in their ranks, and they are looking to convince the 30-year-old about their project. People at the club have already held a meeting with the Gunners midfield as they look to sign in the upcoming transfer window. The Old Lady are aware of the fact that they do not have much depth in the centre of the park.

In addition, with Nicolo Fagioli already banned and Paul Pogba to soon follow, they do need immediate reinforcement. As a result, they are trying their best to convince Partey about a move to the Italian giants. While Arsenal would love to have him in their ranks until the end of the season, his departure could help them sign one of their midfield targets in the upcoming window.
