Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old Spanish midfielder Oihan Sancet from La Liga outfit Athletic Club.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that Arsenal keenly following the progress of Oihan Sancet. And the Gunners, along with AC Milan, are the favourites to sign the 23-year-old midfielder in the coming months.

But Arsenal and AC Milan might not be the only clubs interested in him, as he was also linked with Real Madrid recently. Sancet has established himself as a key player for Athletic Club, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Arsenal as well.

The 23-year-old is highly rated in La Liga, and he has the quality to succeed in England as well. Arsenal could certainly use more quality in the middle of the park, and the player will add technical ability, creativity and flair to the side. He is capable of operating as the number ten as well as an advanced central midfielder.

The midfielder has a long-term contract at the Spanish club and could cost a premium. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal are prepared to pay big money for him. Apparently, they will face competition from Italian club AC Milan as well.

The midfielder could be tempted to move to the Premier League if there is a concrete proposal on the table and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the opportunity to play for them can be hard to turn down for any player.

They managed to challenge for the league title last season and will be hoping to go all the way this time around. They need to add more quality to their squad to match up Manchester City. The 23-year-old midfielder with certainly improve Arsenal and help Mikel Arteta rotate his squad without a drop in quality.

Furthermore, the 23-year-old is still quite young and is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Arteta has done well to nurture young players at Arsenal, and he could help the Spanish midfielder fulfil his world-class potential as well.

It would be an exciting challenge for Sancet at this stage of his career, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can finalise an agreement. There is no doubt that Arsenal have the financial resources to get the deal done and they could easily outmuscle AC Milan in the transfer chase.
