Manchester United rule out Bruno Fernandes exit

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have no intentions of parting ways with skipper Bruno Fernandes amidst interest from the Saudi Pro League.

According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United have made a decision regarding the future of Bruno Fernandes. The Red Devils have decided that the 29-year-old attacking midfielder is not for sale. They won’t sanction his departure in the upcoming winter transfer window or the summer of 2024.

Fernandes joined United in the winter of 2020 from Sporting CP. He had an instant impact and has been a regular since his arrival. The Portuguese international has been involved in 201 matches for the team in red and has contributed towards 125 goals.

He has been exceptional for them over the years and was handed over the captain’s armband ahead of the ongoing season. While the Red Devils have struggled in the ongoing season, they have been far from their best. But, the 29-year-old has still done his bit with five-goal contributions in 11 league outings.

Fernandes’ future has been the talk of the town of late. He has been linked with clubs from the Saudi Pro League. The Middle East clubs have already signed quite a few superstars over the past few windows and they are looking to carry on in a similar fashion.

Fernandes is one of the names that has been on their radar of late. And, reports suggested they were ready to put forward a huge offer. But, United have no intentions of parting ways with the 29-year-old.

They feel he is a very important pillar of the team and United are looking to build a team around him. As a result, they have no intention of letting him leave in the winter or the summer of 2024.

The Portuguese international’s contract with the club runs until the summer of 2026. He currently earns £240,000-a-week at Old Trafford after penning down a new deal last year. And, the Red Devils have an option of extending his stay by another 12 months. As a result, they have no intentions of listening to offers for their skipper.
